Jesus Christ!

Jesus Christ is THE pivot of History. Positioned at both beginning and end as the Alpha and Omega, and central to the destiny of every soul through the ages, He alone is worthy of the Name above all other names. As Deity made flesh we want here to present the One and Only, Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Jesus Christ – the Son of the Living God!

If you ask the right question, you might just get an answer

Jesus asked the religious leaders of his day the following question:

“What do you think about the Christ? Whose Son is He?” (Matt 22:42 NKJV)

Jesus asked this question of men in his generation. The same question is asked of us today. Matthew 16, Mark 8 and Luke 9 also record a similar question that Jesus asked of His disciples:

“But who do you say that I am?”

This is the universal question upon which the destiny of each soul depends. The subject of this post is not just a doctrine to be leaned, or a history to be admired, but “The Christ, the Son of the Living God”. Like Peter, and all who have come after him, we need afresh the Father’s grace to reveal to us the Person of Jesus.

“Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.” (Matt 16:17 NKJV)

It is upon this unchanging and irreplaceable rock of revelation alone that a man can begin to build a life of authentic spirituality and eternal purpose.

“And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.” (Matt 16:18 NKJV)

Take a fresh look at Jesus

Mahatma Gandhi is one of the most respected leaders of modern history. A Hindu, Ghandi nevertheless admired Jesus and often quoted from the Sermon on the Mount. Once when the missionary E. Stanley Jones met with Ghandi he asked him, “Mr. Ghandi, though you quote the words of Christ often, why is that you appear to so adamantly reject becoming his follower?”

Ghandi replied, “Oh, I don’t reject your Christ. I love your Christ. It’s just that so many of you Christians are so unlike your Christ.”

For many the only picture they will ever see of God is in His servants. May we always remember that our lives as Christians are not defined so much by our doctrine as by our love for one another:

“By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”” (John 13:35 NKJV)

Oh that men would see Jesus with fresh eyes.

Not the Jesus shrouded in religion and wrapped in robes and clouds of incense.

Not the Jesus of the Hollywood elite with shiny white teeth, flowing blonde hair and blue eyes.

Not the Jesus with the white suit and cadillac taking up another offering for his ministry.

Not the bigoted law-enforcer with a rod of correction Jesus.

But the Jesus that the Scriptures call Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. That’s the Jesus I want to see and know. That’s the Jesus I want to make known to others.

Jesus Christ the Messiah, the Anointed One – the fairest of ten thousand.

The incomparable incomprehensible gracious loving holy powerful Jesus of the gospels.

The Healer of the broken hearted, opener of blind eyes Jesus.

The good news to the poor Jesus.

The Year of God’s favour Jesus.

The Christ.

Jesus.

    David:

It is so good to always remember how Good He is. He loved us FIRST.
We are all so richly blessed because of that simple gift from Him.

GURU means the preacher who removes ignorance – darkness by emitting knowledge – light. The field of the context is important here. If you are ignorant of mathematics, a teacher may remove your ignorance about mathematics by teaching mathematics. Such a teacher cannot be called as Guru. Guru is the preacher who diverts you towards God by removing your ignorance about God. This is the most important field for any human being because it is the basis of every aspect of life here as well as there after death. The final knowledge of God is to know that you are always ignorant of God, because God is unimaginable or ever unknown.

“Jesus Christ is THE pivot of History.”

More so than you may realize. Behind the literal Bible is hidden a prophetic book speaking of Christ. Every famine, barren woman, and desolation is a shadow pointing forward to the cross and it’s Desolation when the Father left Christ alone on the cross, and the Son had been made to be sin. Where was God at that time? What greater desolation could there be for earth?

What greater tribulation than a Holy God placed in the hands of sinful men? Had Jesus not been rushed to the cross, had he instead been beaten to death in prison. Had he even been delayed a week in facing the cross, “no flesh would be saved” at any time or in any place.

After the cross, the destruction of Jerusalem, the holocaust, and future desolations all point back as shadows of the cross. What began in a garden in Genesis, ends in a garden in Revelation with the cross central to all history.

Many prophecies have what appear to be multiple fulfillments. But they appear to speak of each other only because they all speak of the cross. Any theology, prophecy of doctrine which does not have the cross as the focal point is suspect.

All I know is that Jesus is Who He said He is– I never believed in Him before until I was 16– now I am 47 going on 48, and have experienced His presence with me, as well as a visitation by Him after I was complaining rather strongly one night over a tiny bit of suffering I was going through.

He experienced/ even still experiences more grief than I would ever experience and there I was complaining just as the Jewish people in the desert complained. It was a dark night and I lay in bed groaning and telling God in prayer, “Why do I have to ruin a good night’s sleep over those two (my sister and father had gotten into a huge argument) and suddenly I felt His presence enter my room- and though I could not see Him visibly, I felt Him there in the room and He was standing at the left foot of my bed.

I sensed His personality so strongly there– I could sense His royalty and that He is a King of Kings and yet also sensed His humility and completely unassuming down-to-earth Nature and purity. I sensed His complete calm and peacefulness and can see how the disciples must have marveled at Him when he didnt bat an eyelash during the stormy sea which waterlogged their boat.

“My Body suffers” was what He told me, and I heard Him telepathically while also sensing His presence and personality there . Then I fell asleep peacefuly but I will never forget that night and meeting Him who is so unlike any earthly King– so totally humble yet royal that He puts Obama or any of our leaders to shame–

I knew exactly what He meant when He told me how His Body suffers. To a lesser degree, The Body of Christ suffers for the good of others and shares in His suffering.
It was actually an honor for me to have that opportunity of a sleepless night for the good of my sister and father, but instead I found myself complaining.

Thankfully-, because of Christ’s intervention, the argument smoothed over and calmed down- to where my sister let go of her hate and some healing took place. This is why we must pray for Isreal and Egypt right now- it may mean some sleepless nights for us all but as His Body interceding for these nations God may intervene and put His hand on the situation there– protect Israel and soothe the souls of the Egyptians– and prevent the Muslim Brotherhood from capitalizing on the unrest.

The “But who do you say I am” and the “Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.” and “And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.” lines Jumped off the page at me as If to say “Who am I?, You know who I am and I wont loose you.”
