1 Timothy 2:11,12 “Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.”
Having dealt with the verse in Corinthians and discounted it as a possible second witness affirming the silence of women in churches, we are left with only one verse in the New Testament that can be quoted to curtail the orderly exercise of women’s ministry in the New Testament church.

However, a broader look at women and ministry in the Scriptures reveals a much more liberated picture. We will be considering the Scriptural proof contending for a definite, sanctioned and anointed place for women to minister within the Body of Christ. Realising that a position contrary to this can be validated, we nevertheless choose to take the stand that there is neither male nor female in Christ, but a new creation, and that as such women are absolutely sanctioned by God in their anointing and leadership callings in Christ Jesus and to His Body.
