I Love You Too

I see the sun when it breaks the horizon

The most beautiful thing I’ve ever laid eyes on
Changing the sky from darkness to bright blue

What can I say?
I love You too…

I see the plants, trees, and flowers stretching toward heaven
As if longing to spend just a little time in your presence.
Their green leaves and strong branches reaching desperately up into the blue

What can I say?
I love You too…

I see the mountains, their gorgeous peaks
I see the canyons and valleys beneath
Both so majestic, such a beautiful view.

What else can I say?
I love You too…

I see the looks on my daughters faces
I stare with wonder at them. How amazing!
They look like their mother…

THANKS FOR THAT!
And I love You too…

I see who I was back before I knew you
I thought going to church was something that fools do
With kindness you drew me and made me brand new.

I can just barely whisper,
I love You too.

I look at the Cross and how Jesus died,
Then rose from the grave, declaring your followers justified
You say to my spirit “I did it for you”

I CAN’T HELP BUT SHOUT IT…
I LOVE YOU TOO!!!

I see that I’m perfect in the eyes of the father
Holy, Righteous, Sinless, even Spotless
Not only saved, but I’ve been adopted!

I stand on your promise.
I love You too…

I see Grace is sufficient like the Bible reminds me
To keep what’s in my past where it belongs- behind me.
You say “I’ll never leave, never forsake you”

What else can I say?
I love You too!

I see that I’m nothing like the man I once was
All this is possible because You first loved US

God…
I love You too!

A time for me, myself and I

A time for my clothes

My car, TV

A time to think about mine and me

My wage, my job

My house, my hair

A time to think about what I’m going to wear

Yes, there’s a time

Lots of them in fact

When I’m at the centre

Where everything’s at

HERE AM I!

But what of others?

The man down the road?

What of the single mum with such a heavy load?

What of the poor?

The lonely? The weak?

What of the one’s whose voice cannot speak?

You are their only voice

Your strength their solution

The message you carry

Is their absolution

Without Christ they will perish

With no answer or hope

But in you, yourself and yours

Is the life saving rope

Throw it overboard

To the lonely and the lost

And discover

A time for others

Its worth more than the cost.

One day we’re out Walkin’
Just walkin’ and talkin’
And you say it….
We all do sometimes…
OH    MY    GOD!
I don’t catch it at first
‘cuz it’s such a common verse.
But then it hits me…
HARD…
Right in the face.
And I’m instantly transported to that place
That place deep in my Heart-Mind
Where He talks to me all the time.
My prayer closet, spirit wallet, whatever it is you wanna callit..
You know the place…
It’s where you bow your head
Or lift your face
Or raise your hands and sing His praise…
THAT PLACE
Now we’re still walkin’
And you’re still talkin’
And what you said you’ve long forgotten…
Then I really start to think.
What you said…
It fills my head…
OH…..MY…..GOD
My…..GOD
MY…..GOD

.
The God who saved David from the lion
Who brought his people into Zion
Whose Mercy gets me cryin’
Who’s forever got me tryin’
TO LIVE UP…
Oh God, I’ll never give up!
How could I?
You never did
.
.
You showed me how to push on.
You saw the Cross and still got on.
You went for me because I couldn’t
You went for us because we couldn’t
EVER
.

Earn our way
Or work our way
Buy
Sell
Or pray our way
Into Heaven..
Not without..
MY     God
Our    GOD
See, he paid with blood, and flesh and Love
His Grace is always More Than Enough
What it comes down to
Plain and simple
Is Love
For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son,
So that whoever believes in him shall never die,
But have Everlasting Life!
That’s Love.
Love that saves,
Makes free men from slaves,
Makes the broken whole
And cleanses wicked souls.
Makes preachers out of prostitutes.
It’s love that makes drug addicts into youth pastors…
That takes normal people
And makes them
Missionaries and prophets.
Love that took me
And made
ME
He told us to love one another as He loved us.
But do we?
Sure we do nice things for others
And we’re polite to one another
But is that Love?
Or Courtesy?…
Do I love others enough to talk about HIM?
OH!   MY GOD!
So I say to my friend
As we’re walkin’ and talkin’
Do you know Him?
Who?  You say.
MY GOD…THAT’S WHO!
He knows you.
He loves you.
Wants fellowship with you.
Sent his son to the Cross for you.
JESUS…That’s who
See, he died, and rose again.
Conquered death, fear, pain and sin
So there’d never need to be
Another blood sacrifice to cover me.
He set this time aside for us
To talk about His awesome Love.
He’s known you since before your birth
He’s watched you as you walk the earth.
He knows your hopes
He knows your fears.
Jesus waited for you all these years.
He put us here, together, right now
For Such a Time as This
Take your sinners heart and make it his.
Then see what you feel
When you say
OH     MY     GOD

THE ETERNAL COVENANT…

In eternities past,

Before time ticked its primary moment –

When all that lived was the Three-in-One,

Within the counsel of the Godhead

The yearning heart of love

Cried for something even their all-sufficiency alone could not satisfy.

Among themselves an agreement was made –

An Everlasting Covenant

to encompass all that would follow –

Irrevocable contracts that would shape the answer to love’s desire –

A companion for the Son of the Father’s love,

Of equal standing, of like-character

A holy, anointed, blameless and beautiful bride.

THE EDENIC COVENANT…

“Let us make man in our image,

after our likeness – and his counterpart and helper,

a picture of the Bride to come,

who will stand alongside My Son, and rule throughout the ages.

“Fruitfulness and dominion” I grant them, “Life forevermore.”

Eden’s Declaration – the first Covenant in time.

THE ADAMIC COVENANT…

Then mankind, blinded by the king of pride,

The Tempter of angels and origin of sin –

Demanded a second Covenant

One with healing in its wings –

“I will crush the head of the enemy –

through a virgin’s untouched womb.”

A Saviour promised,

An innocent sacrifice,

Slain to clothe the guilty.

“This is my judgement, this is my mercy.”

THE NOAHIC COVENANT…

Still entranced by satan’s lies

Generations covered the earth with their rebellion,

The dam of grace holding back judgment burst forth, carrying Noah and his family into a new world.

Stepping from the ark that bore them,

An alter was made, offering the future to the one who holds it in His hands,

A Covenant of government,

Assurance and hope.

The promise of a seed dieing for a harvest.

THE ABRAMIC COVENANT…

The hand of love still forming

A Covenant nation called in a man

“Be blessed and be a blessing, Father Abraham,

from your seed as many as the stars,

I will form a bridal nation,

as was then so will be

A spotless many membered Bride, called, anointed, free.”

THE MOSIAC COVENANT…

And so the Hebrew nation,

Finds welcome in a foreign land

But Egypt feared the Hebrew people,

binding Jacob’s hand.

Remembering His Covenant, and hearing their sigh

Moses leads the children of Israel

Through baptism to the foot of Mount Sinai.

Here the perfect Law is given

A Holy Covenant

A picture of the Perfect One

A schoolteacher pointing to Messiah

A signpost for the generations, calling nations higher.

THE DAVIDIC COVENANT…

And then a king after God’s own heart

A lover of this law

Is raised

“To your descendents I will give a throne forever,

One who will rule the nations with truth and justice

Who will never see corruption.”

These Covenants were the instruments in the hand of the Master, used to shape the Perfect Partner.

THE NEW COVENANT…

Still there remained one more,

A final sacrifice

Fulfilling all that came before.

In disguise he arrived

In a stable for beasts

The All-Powerful, naked and vunerable

Wrapped in swaddling clothes.

Then naked again and stripped of dignity,

As a man he climbed the hill of Calvary

The Offerer and Offering as one

Laid bare on a painful tree.

None knew but the Godhead that through this sacrifice

Redemptions payment would be made,

And the foundations of a new creation

Would be forever and fully laid.

Encompassed in this awful moment

All ages past and future –

Through time, the hand of grace and judgement

Stretched to take hold of Adam in the garden –

Pulling him through millennia

And into the blood stained body on the cross

Now clothed again in the innocent slain

Adam was crucified

Adam’s race, every one

The fall and the folly of human pride.

Then like a flood

All governments poured into the Carpenter’s Body –

All powers

Principalities

All authority in heaven and in earth

Crucified in Christ

Ready for a new ruler

Whose dominion and government will be without end.

Stretching His hand then

To the temple,

And to the code of law and righteousness –

Religion itself with all its demands is nailed.

All law

All rule and ritual

All ordinance

Crucified on the cross of Christ the Lord,

Sinai engulfed in Zion’s glory.

Then from the far corners of the universe

Dragged screaming to the cross

The fallen and forsaken,

Rebellious angels and demon powers

Forced through time and space

And driven into the crucified one,

Nailed forever on Calvary’s hill

Stripped and crushed together with Him

Every self-proclaimed

evil prince and king.

In the silence that followed hells parade

Furious, boasting, unyielding

RighteouSness to sin was made

Iniquity himself driven deep into the King

Christ swallowing the garden’s lie

“Why have you forsaken me?”

the Saviour’s anguished cry

Finally even death himself, victorious so he thought

plunged into the prince of peace

Yet even death is brought to nought.

“Into your hands I commit My Spirit.”

And with that breath

The veil was torn and a red carpet poured down the aisle

Flowing from the Saviour’s side

A pathway for the Bride.

All ages, all powers, all in all

Swallowed in the Son of man, and buried in a tomb.

Then the very breath of life,

The same breath that breathed into Adam in the garden

Blew again to raise a new man,

The fullness of the Godhead

Lifted from the grave.

Yet though He rose

Others in the tomb remained;

Fall and folly

Human pride

The law, the ordinances,

Rule and religion

Demon legions and their leaders

Sin, hell and the grave,

and there among this army slain

one more whom the Father claimed

You were there

forever crucified in Him

Called, anointed, forever freed from death and sin.

From realm to realm the Bridegroom stretched,

Taking the hand of the blood bought Bride,

The church prepared

“Come live and love, walk wholly by My side”

From Everlasting to everlasting

The Covenant song is sung

“The Spirit and the Bride as One,

saying, “Come, Lord Jesus, Come.”
